Actors Got Second Chance In Bollywood Came Back With Bang!
We all know about famous actors in Bollywood whose path to success has been rocky. In fact, some of them even had a great stint in the industry, but vanished, and yet managed to get a great comeback. Remember the classic case of Amitabh Bachchan? Even when he went bankrupt at one point of time and all his movies tanked, he managed to comeback and is still doing some amazing work in Bollywood.
Here are some younger and recent actors who got a second chance in Bollywood after they vanished away following their successful first stint in the industry:
1. Shraddha Kapoor
Not many of you would remember, but Shraddha Kapoor made her debut in Bollywood with a dud, Teen Patti. And she went on to do the unnoticeable Luv Ka The End next. She was almost out of public memory when she made a comeback with Mohit Suri's Aashiqui 2 opposite Aditya Roy Kapoor, and that's when the tables turned for Shraddha. She went on to do successful films like Haider, Ek Villain, ABCD 2 and more, and is one of the top leading ladies of the industry.
2. Radhika Apte
Here's another classic case of coming back with a bang! Radhika Apte was first noticed in Bollywood after starring opposite Tusshar Kapoor in Shor in the City. But soon she vanished from the Bollywood scene and went on to do regional cinema. And after a hiatus of almost four years, she came back on to the Bollywood scene with a bang, with a spectacular act in Badlapur, followed by Hunterrr. And now after Manjhi - The Mountain Man, Ahalya, Madly, and Phobia, looks like Radhika is here to stay!
3. Aditya Roy Kapur
Even though he's UTV scion Siddharth Roy Kapur's younger brother, Aditya too had a tough start in Bollywood. He did supporting roles in London Dreams, Guzaarish, and Action Replayy, and took a break for almost three years before he came back with Aashiqui 2. And he managed to sweep the ladies off their feet with his romantic act in the film. Currently, the Kapur lad is busy doing leading roles in the industry.
4. Abhay Deol
Abhay Deol actually made his Bollywood debut in Imtiaz Ali's Socha Na Tha, which was a great film. Sadly, it was the first movie for both Abay and Imtiaz and people couldn't recognise their talent. And the movie didn't perform that well at the box office. Abhay went on to do few average movies like Ahista Ahista and Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. He too had almost vanished from the audience's memory when he came back with a bang in Anurag Kashyap's Dev D and received both audience's appreciation and critical acclaim.
5. Nawazuddin Siddiqui
Nawazuddin's story is a pretty popular now, and I'm sure we all know what all the guy has gone through to reach where he is today. He started his Bollywood career with supoorting roles, and he started getting noticed after his roles in the films like Firaaq and Kahaani. But it was with Gangs of Wasseypur that Nawazuddin finally arrived in Bollywood, and as they say, rest is history!
6. Irrfan Khan
Irrfan Khan too had a pretty rocky start in Bollywood. In fact, not many know that he played a cameo, a letter writer, in 1998 flick Salaam Bombay. And since then he dabbled in TV and supporting roles in films. But it was only much later in his career with films like Maqbool and The Namesake that Irrfan finally made a mark for himself. And now, as we all know, he dabbles between Bollywood and Hollywood flicks like a pro.
7. Konkona Sen
Here's another very talented actress who got her due in Bollywood quite late. Konkona was first noticed in films like Mr. And Mrs. Iyer and Page 3. And then she got a major breakthrough in Omkara. But it was only in 2009, when she got a role opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Wake Up Sid that she got accepted as a leading lady in Bollywood.
8. Shruti Haasan
Shruti made her debut in Bollywood opposite Imran Khan in Luck. But the movie didn't quite prove to be lucky for her and she went on to do movies in the South. She made a comeback in Bollywood with D-Day and was appreciated for her role. And even though Shruti hasn't quite made a mark in Bollywood yet, she had proved with D-Day that she definitely has a lot of untapped potential.
9. Manoj Bajpai
Despite doing brilliant movies like Satya, Shool, Aks, Kaun and more, Manoj Bajpai couldn't get his due in Bollywood. He could never garner the limelight, and was always considered as a supporting actor. His stars changed after Gangs of Wasseypur. He got both audience's appreciation and critical acclaim with that film, and now he's doing some brilliant work in Bollywood, including films like Aligarh.
