Indian Steam Heritage - AKBAR WP-7161 Steam Train Of India
 

Indian Steam Heritage - AKBAR WP-7161. Manufactured at Chittaranjan Locomotive Works and christened as "AKBAR" after the name of Mughal Emperor AKBAR WP-7161 is almost a 50 Years Old Locomotive. AKBAR is presently hauling the Only Steam Train Of India. WP 7161 inducted into active service in 1965, this locomotive was homed at Saharanpur shed and gave distinguished service to IR before being phased out from active service. This Locomotive is christened “AKBAR”, after the great Mughal Emperor.
