The Top 10 Tallest Skyscrapers in the World
Super-tall skyscrapers have always fascinated me - they're the embodiment of mankind's desire to reach higher and higher into the sky. Interestingly, only one skyscraper in the current top 10 is located in the Western Hemisphere. On the other hand, four of the 10 are located in China. While some of the skyscrapers on this list still need finishing, they are all architecturally topped out. Take a look at these incredible feats of engineering:
10. International Commerce Center
Height: 1,588 ft
Location: West Kowloon, Hong Kong
Year of Completion: 2010
Description: Doesn't have any floors including the digit 4, due to East Asian superstition.
9. Shanghai World Financial Center
Height: 1,614ft
Location: Shanghai, China
Year of Completion: 2008
Description: Features trapezoid aperture at the top, referred to informally as "the bottle opener".
8. Taipei 101
Height: 1,670ft
Location: Taipei, Taiwan
Year of Completion: 2004
Description: Tallest skyscraper in the world between March 2004 and March 2010.
7. CTF Finance Center
Height: 1,740ft
Location: Guangzhou, China
Year of Completion: 2016
Description: : Third-tallest skyscraper in China.
6. One World Trade Center
Height: 1,776ft
Location: New York City, USA
Year of Completion: 2013
Description: Tallest building in the Western Hemisphere.
5. Goldin Finance 117
Height: 1,959ft
Location: Tianjin, China
Year of Completion: 2017
Description: Will have a diamond-shaped top once completed.
4. Ping An Finance Center
Height: 1,965ft
Location: Shenzhen, China
Year of Completion: 2016
Description: Fourth-tallest skyscraper in the world.
3. Abraj Al-Bait Clock Tower
Height: 1,971ft
Location: Mecca, Saudi Arabia
Year of Completion: 2012
Description: Features the largest clock face in the world.
2. Shanghai Tower

Year of Completion: 2015

Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Description: Tallest structure ever built.
